Material Properties
This highly flexible heat shrink tubing is made from a Class VI polyolefin. It is extremely thin, soft, pliable and tough making it ideal for the demands of medical device design and manufacturing. This transparent tubing is known for its rapid recovery, low longitudinal shrinkage, high compressive strength and superior surface finish. It also acts as an effective moisture/vapor barrier. This tubing can be Gamma, E-Beam and EtO sterilized. Testing should be done before autoclaving or repeat use. Other characteristics include the following:
- Dielectric Strength: 1,000 volts / mil (minimum at 10 mils)
- Flexural Modulus: 135,000 psi
- Recovery Temperature: 220°F
