Straightened Wire | Stainless Steel 316

Material Properties

Component Supply's stock of 316 stainless steel mandrel wire is spring tempered, drawn and straightened with a bright finish. It is an ideal material for non-implantable medical devices. 316 is strong and can be welded or soldered easily. 316 stainless steel contains 16% chromium, 10% nickel and 2% molybdenum. The molybdenum distinguishes 316 from 304 and is added to aid in corrosion resistance to chlorides. This wire is available in 0.001" increments for diameters ranging from 0.005" to 0.040".
